Web Applications

I've been working with themes in Gallery for 6 years and it wasn't until recently that I started to give due consideration to a significant portion of Gallery's users, those whose native language is written from right to left. Shame on me, because it's really not that difficult to add proper RTL text and layout support to web applications. I hope the following helps out those who need to do the same.

Gallery 2.1 (blackjack) was recently released and sports some interface enhancements and additions contributed by 2 tablespoons.

Congratulations to the Gallery Team on the final release of Gallery 2! Gallery 2 is the culmination of thousands of hours of developers' work over the past 3 years and is the best online photo album manager available today.

I've just returned from one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in recent memory. Several of the core Gallery developers and support crew met up in New York City. For most of the gang, this was the first time they had heard each other's voices and seen each other's faces in person. These guys have become the best of friends by chatting online daily while they work on Gallery, one of the greatest open source web applications available.

About 2 years ago I discovered a wonderful piece of software called Gallery. Gallery is an online photo album with dozens of incredible features that help people manage and display their photos on their web sites. Dozens of developers have spent thousands of hours creating the features in Gallery. The cost to develop is not really known but quite conservatively runs in the hundreds of thousands of dollars after translating time spent.
